Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Fresh coffee, scrumptious soups and tempting cakes every Monday at Kogarah High School!
Following an official ribbon cutting before school on the 19th July 2015, the Coffee Monkey has grown from strength to strength and has become a very welcome and important part of school life at Kogarah High School.
The Coffee Monkey is open on Mondays and supplies school students and staff with a range of beverages including coffees, milkshakes, freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. A variety of snacks, including raisin toast and delicious home-made cakes keep the troops fed throughout the last school day of the week.
The Coffee Monkey program assists students from the support classes to develop skills required for work.
Students learn about taking orders, handling money, preparing food and drink items, and finally, customer service with the delivery of the order to the waiting customer.
The aroma of coffee can be smelt throughout the school and every Monday students and staff look forward to the attentive service provided by students who work in the cafe.
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
